HE IS MY STRENGTH AND COMFORT

Mel left me such a touching comment on the last blog, that I wanted to share with you all that it was through no strength of my own that I got through those many years of Satan badgering me every moment to end the marriage because of my inadequacies. I give God all the glory if you saw any strength at all in me, because as soon as the approval letter came, a dark cloud over me lifted, and all the attacks and anxious hours just stopped!
I wanted to share a picture with you that portrays how I felt. It was like I was climbing a mountain with slippery slope, falling often, but I was the little girl whose hand He is holding in this picture. He would pull me up and comfort me. It seemed to go through a dark forest, and I could not see where I was going or what was on the other side, but the Lord knew...and He promises to never fail us or leave us. I am a slow learner and stubborn student, so it took thousands of repeated times of learning over and over to just trust Him! It takes some practice to learn how to feel the love and strength He is giving and the advice He is whispering to us. The painting is called "Be not afraid" by Greg Olsen, but it also reminds me of the scripture that says "I will guide you, lest you dash your foot against a rock".
Blessings,

Yes, the picture is so accurate to describe what is happening in your life. Blessed are those whose faith in the Lord is steadfast in spite of all the trials and pains they regularly go through. They will shine like big bright stars in the firmament of God's all encompassing glory. Thanks for the post and the mention, and of course, TO GOD BE THE GLORY. God bless you always.

i know you're facing a big trials in your life. i know god's always with you. take care of yourself.

I know this picture, in fact, I have a copy of it saved on my hard drive to use as my desktop image one day.

I was touched when I read your profile. To see such suffering, yet still turn to God for comfort, and strength, and still praise Him - that's what is about. Our human life is temporary, and the suffering pales when compared to eternity with Jesus.

Another lady suffering from lupus etc left feedback on my blog's "Is God Still with Me?" post, and sadly, she is despairing because of it.

Thanks so much for your comments on my blog. God bless you.

Hi Sheila,

I popped by from Amrita's blog. Noticed you said you were from Canada. I am in Etobicoke. Just quickly scanned a few posts. My SIL has lupus and a very good friend at church has fibromyalgia. Must check more of your posts later.

I love that picture. Reminds me of Hannah Hurnard's book, Hinds Feet on High Places. We've been doing a series on David, fighting the 'giants' in our lives. Very encouraging. I'll post about it later.
Blessings to you.

Hi Sheila:)

Although you had many doubts, God has been with you always right from the beginning because you had immense trust, faith and belief.

You post reminds of Christian's journey in Pilgrims Progress by John Bunyan.

Besides, you have a fantastic mental strength, will power and determination.

Many, many thanks for the amazing comment you left in my post today. I am planning to use it in my next post. You are a wonderful writer.

God bless you Sheila:)
Joseph

warm wishes to you and your hubby, sheila. you have come a long way and you have my respect for standing firm in God's love.

Thankyou all
Thanks Peter for visiting my blog and your kind words.
Joseph, I am so honored that you think I am a good writer and want to use my words in a post. I just express myself. I need more training to be a really good writer, but encouraging notes such as yours are keepers!
Thank you! Bless you!
Sheila

Blessings.....
I hope this day brings you more than 4 hours of energy and that it's pain free.

I read your heart which you share through your writings. Allow me to say this and I hope I can articulate it clearly. We all have inadequacies trust me. I have always beleive that and in the field that I am in it has confirmed that.

Your illness does not make you less and the love you have to share is not inadequate. YOu are fully equipped, blessed, loved, highly favored and perfectly imperfect remember that.

Each of us as human beings is flawed and dealing with something, it simply manifest differently on each of us.

Peace....
thank you for sharing your world with us.

Stay blessed.

thank for the right time to know you... God bless, please include in your prayer..
