When We Struggle....
If you never felt pain, Then how would you know If you never had to pray, How would you know that I am a Deliverer? If you never had a problem,How would you know If you never had any suffering, Then how would If I never corrected you, How would you know that I love you? If you had all power, Then how would you learn If your life was perfect, Then what would you need me for?
that I am a Healer?
If you never had a trial, How could you call yourself an overcomer?
If you never felt sadness, How would you know that I am a Comforter?
If you never made a mistake, How would you know that I am a forgiver?
If you knew all, How would you know that
I will answer your questions?
If you never were in trouble, How would you
know that I will come to your rescue
If you never were broken, Then how would you know
that I can make you whole?
that I can solve them?
you know what I went through?
If you never went through the fire, Then
would you become pure?
If I gave you all things, How would you appreciate them?
to depend on me?
Love, Jesus
Sheila, I came over to your blog because of Joseph's mention on his (He is such a truly sweet person, I feel! I am thankful for him today)...and I just watched the YouTube about TN and read a few of your other posts, particularly about your storage bin being robbed. I have to say I am struck with the severity of your situation, and want you to know that I will be praying for you....I have chronic fatigue syndrome and bad knees, but there is very little PAIN in my life! My husband lost his job and had to take a lesser one and we lived with friends, then with my parents and now are living in an office above a business. And sometimes I feel sorry for myself. I try not to....I KNOW things could be a lot worse! God is good. I loved this post because you are sharing that with others, in spite of all you are going through...He found you that lovely luggage to replace your stolen luggage. He is our comfort and strength when we are weak. Have you read The Shack? I was so uplifted by its message! I would recommend it highly.
Just know that here is another Christian, lifting you up. I hope you will also do so or me. God bless.

Dear Marie; It is so nice to meet you. I also have lupus and fibromyalgia and 8 serious conditions caused by lupus destroying my organs. When I read YOUR story, I think my problems are not as bad as yours. There is a fable that says if we all wrote our problems on pieces of paper, put them on a table, then decided to choose someone else's problems, we would pick up our own problems and go home, because we fear the unknown. We don't think we could handle what the other is struggling through, but we are familiar with our own struggles already. I could be homeless soon, and your story makes me think that I should not bring my husband here from the war zone if I will be homeless. At least there he is a civilian worker with a home! Imagine coming home to a rich country to be homeless and perhaps living in an office like you are doing. In Canada that is against the law so we would be in the street for sure. Especially if there is any prejudice against foreigners or skin color, because my husband has darker skin and is not from here, but right now I think Canada has more foreigners than people born in Canada. So many crisises in these last days. Hopefully people will develop old fashioned values of compassion and sharing and helping each other, as they did in the depression during the 30s. Bless you, I pray things will get better for you soon. If you can work from the computer, consider drop shipping for ebay. Email me at the "email me" button on my profile and I will tell you what that is. I know people getting rich from it.
Bless you, Sheila

Sheila--this post is truly inpirational--I think the author pretty much says it all!
I've lived long enough to know a lot of it first-hand...lessons are not over, either!
By the way, I just found Janis Ian's autobiography in the library book sale--opened it to the later part, lo and behold, she loses every cent she has, as well as her future income, due to a crooked financial manager and a vindictive tax agent...then almost dies from a ruptured intestinal abscess, then her partner leaves her for someone else, then she comes down with chronic fatigue syndrome! But of course, she survives...to write the book--and that's as far as I got in the story--but it gave me a feeling of strength similar to the message in this post. I feel that as down as we find ourselves when everything is taken away, it is then that we see what is real. And we see what is God's...
Blessings to you, and to Marie--
And I love what you say about choosing the familiar struggles--you are so right about that!

Wow Vivian;
That sounds like my life in my mid 30s, but I also lost contact with my children and grandchildren when my husband left me and I had to choose to move to Canada or be sick and homeless with 2 broken ankles, and a dozen surgeries. We do survive it, but it takes its toll on us.
Hugs dear friend!
Sheila

Hi Sheila :)
Excellent post! Very inspiring! Amazing photos!
If we don't go through all the difficulties, troubles, problems and feelings we will never know the power of God and also we would not have lived a full and complete life.
Prayers and best wishes :)
