I have always loved this explanation that is a metaphor and explanation for our continued trials. For all you out there that feel like you are in the refiner's fire.. There is a reason why.Keep the faith, Pray often and you will find that it will be over before you know it.
MALACHI 3:3 says: 'He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.'This verse puzzled some womenin a Bible study and theywondered what this statementmeant about the character andnature of God.One of the women offered tofind out the process of refiningsilver and get back to the groupat their next Bible Study. That week, the woman called asilversmith and made anappointment to watch him atwork. She didn't mentionanything about the reason forher interest beyond her curiosityabout the process of refiningSilver. As she watched the silversmith,he held a piece of silver overthe fire and let it heat up. Heexplained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver inthe middle of the fire wherethe flames were hottest as toburn away all the impurities. The woman thought about Godholding us in such a hot spot;then she thought again aboutthe verse that says:'He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.'She asked the silversmith if itwas true that he had to sit therein front of the fire the wholetime. The man answered that yes, henot only had to sit there holdingthe silver, but he had to keephis eyes on the silver the entiretime it was in the fire. If the silverwas left a moment too long in theflames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for amoment. Then she asked thesilversmith, 'How do you knowwhen the silver is fully refined?'He smiled at her and answered,'Oh, that's easy -- when I seemy image in it.'~~~~~~~~~~~~If you are going through continuedtrial after trial, know that it isonly to help strengthen you,and burn off all of your weaknesses, and the Lord does this until He cansee Himself in our hearts and inour lives. He will keep watching youcarefully, so that the fire of thetrials will not destroy you. This very moment, someone needs to know that God iswatching over them. And, whatever they're goingthrough, they'll be a betterperson in the end.Blessings,Bluebirdy
